<VV> Steering box lube

It is a question of little importance in the grand scheme of Corvairdom,  
but I'm beginning to wonder if GM didn't start to recommend grease in the  
steering boxes beginning with the late models just because if was easier than  
having to have steering gear lube on hand.  After all, it the box already  
had some steering lube and was just running low then the addition of grease 
to  the mix wouldn't have mattered much given the average life of a car.
 
Got to get back to painting this bathroom before the outlaws arrive for  
Thanksgiving.............
