There is some testing you can do before pulling the head apart. Set the head with the combustion chamber up and with the spark plug installed fill the chamber with a thin liquid. By watching the ports you should be able to find the leaking valve pretty quickly.

Before you took the head off you also could have put #3 on top dead center and fed about 20 psi into the cylinder thru the sparkplug hole and listened for the air leak, then could have done the same test with the rockers loosened up completely to check for a valve adjustment problem.

Let us know what you find.

If some version of a leak-down test reveals valve leakage, a few taps on the leaking valve can sometimes bounce it against the seat and break the deposits that may be holding the valve open. Probably should be a little cautious with the taps, especially if whacking the retainer rather than the valve stem directly, since there is some tendency to unseat the keepers. It is possible to remove valves by hammering on the retainer so the keepers pop out. Not the best technique, for sure.
