The fall issue of the Hagerty Auto Ins magazine contains the
following (page 51),part of their Market Watch.

Sold at $5280- Barrett-Jackson Lot 14 January 2010

1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Coupe

"Medium blue with blue vinyl interior, this second generation Corvair
was powered by the 164-ci, 95hp horizontally opposed six. The paint is
not up to par, with color variations, wavy sides, poor finish and
paint work show through. Bright work and chrome trim are decent, glass
is good. The front seats and carpet look good, but there is a crack to
the dash vinyl and apparent mold on the top of the back seats.
The main attraction might be the rarely seen air conditioning.
this was the Monza series, the mid-level Corvair priced at $2350
(MSRP) vs the entry level 500 series at $2083 (MSRP) or the
top-of-the-line Corsa at $2519. At this price there is plenty of fun
to go along with the air-conditioned comfort."

I would think that this is a more realistic indication of the value vs
Jay Leno's or anyone else's "estimates"
