<VV> When a 1960 part is not a 1960 part

Okay, I read the post for the NOS 1960 rear grille here. 
Since my "Oldest Corvair" #375 needs a rear grille I 
called the guy right away. He was in Novi, Michigan just 
about 15 minutes from where I was calling from. We 
negotiated the price from a starting bid of $40 right up 
to my favorite number; $60! Then he wanted $17 to box and 
ship it. Rather than that I took a short drive with cash 
in pocket. When I got there the NOS 1960 rear grille 
turned out to be for a 1961. I advised him of the correct 
application and left. Empty handed. The next day I see 
that the part is now listed on Craigslist for $200. It had 
something to do with the NOS 1962/3 rear grille that he 
sold short earlier in the year. He found out later that is 
was worth "up to $500...". So now that the '60 grille has 
morphed into a '61 I guess it is getting closer to the 
1962 style that is worth so much more. Go figure?!? -
