When I swapped steering columns into a '65 to replace the long shaft  
steering box I first tried a '68 so the owner could take advantage of the  
collapsable column in case of an accident--it didn't work because the "saddle"  of 
the pedal assembly was different to allow for the larger steering column  
diameter and possibly for the three bolt instead of two bolt column to dash  
mount.  I ended up swapping '66 parts into the '65 instead.
 
My point was that if your clutch pedal is interfering with the parking  
brake cable as you say in your late, LM column swap you might want to check the 
 pedal assembly area to be sure things are being routed the way they  
should.
