Try everyone, to keep in mind that in the vision of GM's Corvair Engineering Team, they fully expected the last Corvair to be off the road by 1979. It was engineered and designed to last 10 years.

If the car is in a Concours, and it isn't factory stock original or factory stock restored, it's a "Non-Stock" car. What the hell difference does it make what you call that class?

Mark, you should start your second career as a lecturer on semantics.

As I've said, I can "appreciate" a stock Corvair. Don't want to OWN one, don't want to DRIVE one, but I can appreciate it.

My stand has always been that the Corvair is a fun car to drive. If it wasn't fun to drive, I would have sold my first vair, which I bought in 87, in 88.

Now I go back to a car that Gary S. and I know about. Corvair 2dr HT, 1969. Low mileage original. Enclosed Trailer Queen. YOU CANNOT DRIVE IT. The owner said that if you start it up, oil would puke everywhere, because it still has the original neoprene seals in it. It SITS IN THE TRAILER IN THE DRIVEWAY when not taken to a show. They roll it out, and push it back in.

This car is BONE STOCK in every detail. Original paint still looks showroom new. Samey Same upholstery and trim. All sorts of original detail and history

BUT YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT. IT ISN'T ROADWORTHY because the improvements needed to make it driveable have not been done.

So, If I might be permitted my full range of expression, WTF GOOD IS THIS CAR?

To me, It isn't worth anything.

Hank
