Just remember all that "regular" in the 50's and 60's was the higher octane
of today. Or so that was what I have been told from many of our older car
gurus! That means that we SHOULD be running our cars on the highest octane
regularly available. For me that is 93. DRIVE ON!

Hope you didn't pay much to import those Gurus!!! gggg

Auto fuel in the 60's was measured by MOTOR OCTANE in the USA "M"

Europe , etc. used ROM [ research ONLY method ] "R"

In the 80's the US went to R + M divided by TWO..... "Averaged"

Research Octane is usually 2-3 POINTS LOWER the Motor POINTS

So Our numbers are lower now...

Note: it's on EVERY GAS PUMP.... required by law....

 NO FLAME!!!!

For anyone to thinks that modern fuels are not BETTER than fuels 40 years ago....

probably still hasn't checked on the ingredients in the Cheapest FOSSIL based oils sold today..

To attain SL ratings... ALL oils must have some synthetics!!

Yet many GooGooGru's will swear their engines were ruined buy that cheap WalMart or House branded oil...
