<VV> My individual take on prejudice

Chuck
The year was late 1999-early 2000. I WON---but it wasn't easy. Most of
the directors thought our book was a good idea.

I've let the experience go. But YOU ASKED FOR IT.

The board members name who refused to vote for it and encouraging the board
not to spend the money for our book was Ron Peles, Eastern Division director
and a long standing friend of Bob Marlow.

He said his "Fiduciary Duty to CORSA" would not allow him to vote for a
1500.00 expenditure. Of course he had no problem funding his own pet
project, the infamous "CORSA Kiosk", which I have yet to see, and have read
on VV stories about how pieces of it were once spread throughout the western
US. I e-mailed and spoke to him on the phone several times, and he had no
cogent reason not to vote for it. Then he told me he had a family member
sick with cancer and not to bother him further.

Now ask yourself---How many members have benefitted from Corvair Basics, and
how many members have benefitted from the CORSA Kiosk? How many new members
have the book vs were recruited by this white elephant?

At the 2000 Convention, Larry Claypool and I presented the book to the CORSA
General Membership Meeting. All directors were present. When the meeting
broke up I tried to speak to Director Peles. He hauled his ass out of the
room so fast I couldn't have caught him if I ran.

Sorry Bob---I didn't want to open this can again. I felt like Chuck was
assailing my integrity, and he should have known better.

Chuck---Is the Brush BROAD enough for you now?

I reported it as it happened, and none of it was made up.

Hank
