Reputable car haulers will do an inspection of the vehicle at the point of pick 
up and provide the person at that end with a copy of their inspection. Much like 
when you go to rent a car and the rental agency provides you with a vehicle 
inspection that you sign. That way the car hauler is responsible for any and all 
damage that occurs during the time the  car is in the hauler's possession. Same 
with the person renting the car. Insurance and whose responsible for what should 
be on the forefront of your mind when selecting car haulers.
