<VV> Turbo Distributor Questions

Hello All,

I'm mid-way through assembling my 180 turbo engine, and I have discovered a show stopper.
The engine was from a '65 Corsa that was complete, but not running. The car had a brand new distributor installed when I bought it.

I discovered that the distributor has a vacuum advance rather than a pressure retard. The part number on the distributor housing is for a 110 engine. So it looks like someone has installed the wrong one. The original doesn't appear to be in the pile of parts that came with the car, so it's probably long gone.

Is it possible to convert the 110 distributor to one suitable for a turbo by swapping the cam, weights, springs, and canister? (I'm guessing about $175 to buy these parts from Clark's) The current distributor is otherwise in perfect shape. If I replace these parts, is there a better combination than stock? Is there a more cost effective solution rather than buying the individual components?Does anyone have any experience using some sort of computer controlled distributor rather than the mechanical ones? (I'm not above building one myself.)
Thanks in "advance"
