<VV> wrong muffler and other ramblings

I got my new "Corvair shop" up and running today after the missing part for my heater arrived. I now have a decent work area though I need shelving and such to get things properly sorted and put away.

The first task after getting the shop put together was to change the main seal behind the pulley on the 63' in hopes of seriously decreasing the oil leakage. This went off without a hitch.

Next up was to replace the shoddy exhaust I had pieced together out of scraps with a nice "gently used" stock single exhaust I recently purchased from a Corvair salvage place. Based on the results I believe I brought home a 1960 exhaust! This would be my fault as I picked the exhaust from the pile myself and not being very familiar with earlies didn't know what to look for. At any rate the muffler is too long and seems to want to set itself in place to have the tailpipe come out through the rear grill... thats why I figure it's a 1960 part. Also the muffler has a bracket on the back right above the tailpipe. It's a shame because the muffler looks just about brand new... I'll have to see what the inside looks like when I take it off the y-pipe.

If anyone wants the muffler once I inspect it as best I can just let me know, I'll send it out to you as long as you cover the shipping since I'm unlikely to ever need it.
