Sorry, Bob, but I can't quite agree.  When I was a kid, and until after I married and bought my first Corvair, almost everyone I knew lived in families.  Most families lived comfortably on one income.  Mom's were there when the kids got home from school.  Kids played outside with each other getting lots of fresh air and exercise.  It was a time when most communications came face to face over a handshake.  We were guided by family values and children committing suicide was unheard of. 

I do agree that there is nothing 'boring' about times today.  HIGH pressure and yes, SCARY!  Sure, the past looks good ... and because we DO know how it came out ... Not much to be proud of in the line of quality of life. I am not saying there is nothing good or improved about today but it has been purchased at a painful price.
