Good point Mike. Based on everything I've read, this is true for most other cars as well. How many times have we read that it's cheaper to buy a car that's done, and even cheaper still to buy a car that's partially finished?

In the case of Corvairs, there is a huge body of owners who are capable of making the car the way they want, which attracts more such owners, so there is also a group of people who don't want a finished car because it's not to their taste.
