Just like perfume, cheap doesn't sell, expensive does.

Subject: <VV> I think I figured out my ebay problems ...

My prices are too low. I advertised these VERY cool child safety
locks for the 4 doors (most GM). They are cool because they are
chrome and weird. And also because replacement knobs are not
available in all colors and if you restore a four door, these are
legal and correct in concours. I listed them for 25 bucks. Meanwhile
another seller has 8 sets he starts out at 45 bucks and some have
sold for 90 bucks. And my rating is perfect and higher than his not
so perfect. What gives? So I have several of the NOS parking brake
alarms. Listed them for 25 bucks. No sale. I relisted at 35
bucks. No sale. I relisted at 45 bucks and I'll be hanged if they
did not sell. I guess good NOS stuff cheap is not the way to go --
all those people that get mad at the high prices don't even buy when
prices are low. So might as well ask big. I made an offer to the
loser of the last auction for the child safety locks for 85 bucks ...
they sold! Still have 1-2 sets of those left as well. I remember in
a business class the case study of a NYC hot dog vendor who was
finally advised to double his prices and ... oddly ... his sales
doubled. No other changes. Go figure. I offered complete set of
nice Spyder instruments for 69 bucks -- can't even get them at
Clark's or CA Corvair -- no bites. Had someone from the local club
hook me up with someone in Phoenix and I told him I wanted 200 bucks
for the instruments ... and he is thinking about it!!!! I'm going to
list them high now. E
