Hi Folks,

A fellow Corvair owner has a late model that runs fine with out the tach
wire on. He puts the brown tach wire on the - coil terminal and the engine
dies. New harness from Clarks. Gets a 9.8 Ohm reading for just the wire to
ground. Anyone know what the correct reading should be. 9.8 Ohms seems a
lot low to me.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

Is it an aftermarket tach or original? I've seen a couple of aftermarket
tachs where an incorrect installation killed the engine when the coil lead
was installed. Check the wiring at the dash end to be sure that isn't the
problem first.
