So far as I know, only the rear bearings on a Late Model are a press fit. 
Hence, some folks go the grease fitting route.  There are various opinions 
on that one.  My '65 has had that treatment and (so far) no problem with the 
bearings or the brakes.

As they say, your mileage might vary.
