16's and 17's are certainly do-able on an EM, and IMO (In My Opinion) they
actually look better on an EM than a LM in that size. (17's anyway).

But you can't go any wider than 7"s if you want the rears to fit.

You've got to be very careful at that size on your backspacing.  If you do a
little searching over at the Corvair Center Forum you should find the
answers you're looking for.

Hello everyone, 

I'm new to corvairs and just got myself a 61' 700  4dr. 

It is now at the shop getting brks done and some carbs done. 

I want to move from stock wheels to bigger new custom wheels. 

Has anyone tried to fit 16"-17"? is 15" the biggest that i could fit? and
what is the right offset? 

If you could give an specific wheel that you found i would appreciate the
help. 

Most places i have tried say that it is gonna be hard to find me wheels 
because they are the 4 lug type and most don't carry these? 
One shop told me they had some 15"x6 wheels called PMX 501 that they could 
special order but they don't have a picture to show me and i can't find a
picture online. Please help me!! and excuse my lack of knowledge!!
