<VV> bearing noise in 1, 2 & 3, but not 4

   All transmission noises that disappear in 4th gear in some way another
involve the counter shaft/gear. In 4th that assembly is entirely
bypassed.
It would not be anything on the mainshaft including the front or rear
bearings.
