<VV> PG starter free spin

Given that ALL of my much improved modern cars have manual transmissions... <G>

Besides, push starting a Powerslide requires pushing it at a fairly decent and not terribly safe speed to get it to turn over, so, where's the advantage again?

Reminds me that unlike modern "improved" cars you CAN push start automatic
trans Corvairs. I used to park at one job site that had a hilly lot and
I parked the 66 Monza "Joe Cool" at the highest spot. With the ignition on
I could usually (but not always) get it rolling fast enough by the time I
got to the lot exit to "roll start" it without using the starter.
Let's see you try that with a recent A/T car!!!

Grymm: Had the problem with both my 66 and my 69. I solved the problem
with a rebuilt starter. The starter is worn and it won't get any better.
in fact it is likely that eventually you'll get stuck someplace and be
unable to get another start (happened to me once).

You can rebuild it if you have the time and the room in your garage, but
since I have neither, I just got a rebuilt and haven't had a problem.
