Hi Jerry, There are places to find very good step by step instructions. Have you checked the 1965 Shop Manual? Or the CORSA Tech Guide has very good stuff. Now if you want the easiest and very reliable method: Pack them up and send them to Steve Goodman at Rear Engine Specialists. And for sure there are others in our club more than capable. Remember,our (my) cars are driven long distances at highway speeds. 
As far as installing a grease fitting: 
1. How much grease do you pump into them? It's like adding refrigerant to an A/C system that you suspect is low on charge. You really don't know where you are at as far as the necessary amount.
2. How often do you pump grease into them? (annually, mileage gone by, or?)
3. And what do you do when grease comes out onto the brake shoes while driving? (It will continue to come out if overfilled or one of the seals has been ruined by pumping too much grease into it).
These are some of my thoughts. Others will chime in. Especially if they read my thoughts.
