it is not safe to do , but i adjusted one of the overheat switches (the  
rectangle ceramic block) SLIGHTLY by bending the contact you see after 
removing  it from the housing. i ran paper thru the contacts and bent the upper one 
just a  touch down. this increased the heat a lot. i also removed the stack 
switch and  blew the rust and dust off the spiral .  mine works very good 
for a long  time now , and lowers fuel mileage @2MPG as close as i can 
figure. we just used  it about 175 miles on a club tour Saturday. great comfort! 
on a yucky rainy cold  day...but still fun.
