 LOL!! Well, at any rate, check all the connections, check the regulator, and make sure the generator doesn't have an open winding on the armature.

Mark has a generator, not an alternator. Gemnerators generate DC as is, and 
don't use diodes. Lucas may have had many quirks, but putting diodes in 
generators wasn't one of them. I'd bet a scotch pie to a Sussex pond that Delco 
didn't put diodes in their generators, either, as they would serve no useful 
function.
