<VV> The EM "Void"

Two discoveries today, one good and one awful!

When we put the 63 Coupe together for Missy we never removed the cardboard
panel below the rear window because it was one of the few interior parts
that was fairly decent.

Today we removed that panel in the 62 coupe and I was extremely happy to
find a big space behind it! I've been procrastinating putting some rear
speakers in Missy's car for months because I didn't think there was enough
space back there for anything decent.... this "void" changes everything!!

So after lunch Missy and I went out to her 63 and removed that same panel in
preparation to do a speaker install for her.... the moment the panel was
pulled out a horrible smell choked us up and caused us to both bail out of
the car! It seems that at some point during the cars 28 years in a barn
some mice had discovered this void and decided to build a 5-star resort in
there... it was really awful.

I spent the next couple hours with double layered latex gloves, my painting
mask, and the shop vac cleaning it out. Once I got the mess out and sealed
in a hefty bag I soaked the whole thing in fantastic and a 50/50 mix of
bleach. What a disgusting mess!

So for those who didn't already know, there is a fairly big open space below
the rear window that extends back toward the engine room.. perfect to hide a
nice pair of 6.5" or 6x9 speakers and even an 8" subwoofer and amplifier if
you want.... it is also a potential haz-mat zone if your car ever had
mouse problems.
