<VV> spatter paint for trunk

I have to decide which spatter paint to use on the the trunk of the Sagan Spyder.  I have used the spray cans in the past and the results are good, but I don't care for the rough texture they leave and the lack of durability.  My 65 four door has the original trunk paint and the surface is quite smooth.  Has anyone used the Clark's spatter paint in the quart cans?   What about Zolatone spatter paint?   It just seems like there isn't any trunk paint available that comes close to the original paint.  Your advice would be appreciated.

The trunk in the Sagan vehicle is now in 2K light grey primer that has been scuffed with a maroon scotchbrite pad.  Thanks,
