<VV> Radio speaker

My radio isn't working real well.  I've been told it may be the speaker.  I've got another radio lined up just in case,  but what about the speaker?  

The car is a '63 with original radio and speaker.  I don't care about originality.  I just want it to sound good ,  and fit the hole where the old one is . 

       So what is the best kind of  replacement speaker to get , and where do I go to get it ?  Please be merciful.  I don't have much electronic experience. Thanks.
