Hello Smitty,
A couple of things you might have overlooked. First is the fuel pump. How  
is it? Also since the spark seems OKay, how about removing the carb tops 
right  after it dies and see how much fuel is in the bowls. That should tell 
you  whether it is a fuel problem. Lastly, how about the exhaust flow? Could 
the  muffler be an obstruction somehow? Iv'e heard of them shifting internals 
and  restricting the flow. 
 
OH, you didn't mention it, but does the timing light stay on the exact spot 
 on the pulley when it sputters and dies?
