Try spraying a very small amount of anything wet , like window cleaner on  
the belt while it is running , I do it down by the crank pulley. If noise 
goes  away , live with it , or replace the belt.
Please do it safely ,and with a small amount!  the stuff will spray  around 
a little if you use too much, but dries up quickly.
I have heard belts sound like a rod knocking...or bad bearings etc.
