<VV> Early rear bearing leaks

I have brand new rear axle bearings in my 63 Spyder, and after driving  it 
a while, I decided to re-torque the housing nuts, and noticed that a little  
oil had oozed out of the bearing housings and down the backing plates a  
little.  Aren't the bearings supposed to be sealed?  So far the new  bearings 
have been about 5,000 miles with no trouble.  Mark  Francis   63 Spyder
