As of late does not mean how they were a few years ago. Just like our 
domestics, both Kia and Hyundai had growing pains that left some owners 
never wanting to buy another. Hyundai had them in the 80s, early 90s, 
and Kia had them more recently, so is still fresh in the public's mind.

A guy at work had a Kia with a bumper to bumper warranty for 100K miles. 
He finally decided the warranty covered both bumpers, as no other 
failure was ever covered by warranty, including internal engine damage!
