I hope not! Aircraft carbs aren't designed to do what automobiles require. Besides, they are SERIOUSLY $$$$$, and there are very good alternatives like Webers, SUs, etc.

As the 'YH' carburetor seems to be so troublesome for so many, has anyone
considered using an aircraft carb on a Corvair?

well only at the altitude it's jetted for.
> I believe most people who use Corvair engines in aircraft utilize either
"aircraft" carburetors which have a manual mixture adjustment built into them so
the pilot can adjust for altitude, or they use "altitude compensating" carbs,
the most common of which are the CD Series carbs made by Bing.
