<VV> Corvair VV email : extra lines in messages

The 'extra <Enter> keys' (i.e. line feeds) in VV posts or other documents,
are a function of settings in your software (browser or other word processor
or text editor such as VV.)

Some programs use a single character (ASCII 13) as a new line ('carriage
return' from typewriter days), but some use both an ASCII 13 + ASCII 10,
which is 'return' (move to beginning of the line.)

HTML uses <tags> but the effect is the same...

If your settings expect one of these, but the message has both, then you get
double linefeeds, and extra lines.

Some email readers will remove them for you, so check your settings.

Sorry Matt, I didn't see you response already at the bottom where I am not
uaccustomed to looking down there !!!

But, what I don't understand is why you throw so many Enter Keys (AKA
Returns) into your responses. Those just show up as a series of blank lines
with ">" in front of them - causing the reader to have to scroll even
FURTHER down to see what you have to say.

Just double spacing... helps most readers to comprehend what they are
reading... proven.

and a blank line is only 5 characters in code iirc No real waste of
bandwidth.

Just like I only reply to VV... not the posters.... that's a waste of
bandwith!
