Amsoil say you can run some of its oils 25k miles, I have run the Mobil
1 extended interval oil to 15k miles with a oil filter change at 7500,
no issues. Its a matter of the additive package and how long the oil
can be kept clean. Mobil q and Amsoil both were so slick the seals
weeped a bit.

Mercedes recommends Mobil 1 for the Crossfire with a 7000 mile change
interval so they must have a lot of confidence in it.
