<VV> clutch question

I got my 700 out of storage and it drives just fine, all forward gears engage with out grinding. But when I go to shift in to reverse its hard to engage without grinding. Do I need to adi\just the cable some to get more through out bears engagement? any ideas or extremities, she old and un-restored  ( 64 700 sedan ) but in great shape.
