yes, I agree, I consistently drove my first car 220k miles, with a overhaul
in there due to a broken cam gear, but it just drove and drove with very
few issues. I had several generator failures, and a blower fan bearing, but
I drove the car summer and winter, changed oil every 4-5k miles did a tune
up every 20k miles, and just kept going. the current car gets 1500 miles a
year, so should last a lonnnngggg time! Mark Durham

And it is remarkable just how problem free our engines are with all of the
shrouding in place, properly sealed and with a clean engine (no blocked oil
cooler or cylinder fins).
Bob
Clark, they were able to make the aluminum heads work on iron blocks
because the temp range was more steady and narrower on the water
pumpers than we have on these air pumpers. Our engines had shrouding
around them to try to produce a more consistent temperature to help
mitigate those issues, too. Mark Durham

Another reason screws loosen up is cover and block are aluminum and the
baffle is steel. They expand and contract at different rates causing the
gasket surface to "walk" back and forth. I never could understand how
aluminum heads can work on an iron V8 block. Lots of movement there!
Maybe we should make an aluminum baffle plate.
