Since the air-cooled concept didn't really take any shape at Chevy until around 1956-57, and the Bel Air was the top-line Chevy in '54, it makes sense that the Corvair name was a melding of Corvette and Bel Air, the name was used for that concept Corvette in 1954...Bill Hershkowitz 66 Monza Sport Sedan 110 PG A/C
