<VV> Reverse Rotation Cooling

Hmmm, very interesting info. I hope the original poster sees your reply.

On the other hand, backward-flow cooling might require a cooling-off
period before changing plugs, but it would help keep the pushrods a lot cooler.
Imagine a blast of hot air coming OUT of that large fan housing, instead!
A racing application might even resemble the Chapparal 2J sucker-car!

I did mention (several times) that a serpentine belt, where the fan is driven from the back side of the belt, and a couple of idlers, would allow one to use a stock Porsche fan on a stock engine.

Now, for a reverse rotation Corvair engine, the Porsche fan spins the same direction as the crankshaft, so, that makes it even easier.

Hey guys, remember the title of this thread is Reverse Rotation Cooling,
started by a fellow who was interested in changing to the Porsche-type fan
setup, but already had a reverse rotation engine. I guess you might be the
person, John, to help supply the answer, since you have one sitting on your
bench.

Are there any other fans available for the Porsche-type fan housing? I know
the regular rotation version uses a yellow plastic Mini fan, but that
particular blade angle wouldn't be of any use running backward, unless you
wanted to experiment with backward flow cooling, but I doubt that's the case
here.
