If, by Saginaw you mean the late model transmission (66-69), it is longer 
than the others. It has six bolts that attach it to the differential so one 
would need a diff, too. Holes between trans and diff may be different from 
earlier to later, as well. Now, if you have room - I can't recall on an FC - 
and can fabricate a front bracket/crossmember and shorten the shift rod from 
up front, and it doesn't interfere with anything, then I suppose it could be 
done. Now the question is why? The earlier trans offered some better FC 
appropriate ratios, fits with only the cross member/mounting bracket mods or 
fabrication, AND shifts smoother.
