There is a '62 Monza 4-door for sale in Bakerton, WV. That's in the state's eastern panhandle, that land mass that projects eastward between VA and MD, pointing toward DC. And, no, it's no where near Rick Norris. Anyway, the car has the 102 and a 4-speed manual. The color is a silver/blue with light blue vinyl buckets. I noticed that the driver's seat, while the same color, is from a '63 whereas the rest are correct for a '62. The body seems solid but the paint is badly cracking. The car has an alternator. Every time I've stopped by the owner has been gone but his son, a little boy, did what he could to tell me about the car. He said that the carbs have been replaced and pointed out the alternator, which I'd already noticed. They're asking $3,500. I won't offer an opinion on the price. The little boy said they're selling it because they're moving to Washington state and it gets cold there and they didn't know if the car would warm up. I know it runs because I have seen it on the road. It has a current inspection good through December. The number on the for sale sign is:
(571) 933-3801. Judging by the area code I'd say it's a cell. The car has the correct, original rear grill and correct "Custom Feature Accessory" lap belts for the driver and front passenger.
