You are probably looking at the pan & scan version.  Try the  letterbox 
version and you'll see so much more.
Just an aside, the obituary for Jonathan in my local paper (L. I. Newsday)  
did not even mention his appearance in, "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad  World."
