<VV> Engine Removal and All the goes with it

Removing the entire drive train is the way I have always done it. That
includes race engines at the track. So far I only had to do that once!

I know that many probably can do it but removing just the engine gives me
the heebie-jeebies.  Many Corvair mechanics I know feel the same way and
would refuse remove just the engine.  What's the problem?  Just take  out
the entire power train and separate the engine and transaxle on  the floor.
It is probably easier to get it back together when it's out of  the car.

to risk the  outcome, you know the answer. If you have the engine already
out, removing the  transaxle is pretty darn quick and easy to remove and
then split apart. I like  doing things properly. I like driving my Corvairs
long distance. My vote is do  it correctly. Tell us your decision.
