Hi Bob,
The '66 transmission bracket has 4 bolts holding it to the trans case whereas the '65 trans bracket had 3. 1 of the 3 was bigger than the other 2. The big (horseshoe) crossmember will interchange and does not need to be changed as part of this swap. You'll have to adjust the shifter length. This is what I remember.
