A couple of comments on the CPF sitch:

1.  That '69 body doesn't have any record of being the last Corvair body built, the VIN number as far as I know is XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.  A car got a VIN when it had an order attached to it, and this body was built only as a body.  According to Mark Ellis and Dave Newell, GM execs ordered their underlings to collect a complete '69 Corvair in parts after #6000 was completed, perhaps for themselves (maybe they were afraid of a shortage of parts).  It's likely this body is part of that effort, but I know of no date when it was actually built.

2.  The news is always full of Detroit having buildings that no one wants.  True, you wouldn't want to put a museum in rundown neighborhood, but there might be a building in a decent area that the owner is having a hard time selling.  If CPF is a tax-exempt organization/charity, someone could donate a building and take a tax credit on it.
