<VV> Positraction Question

What would a single slipping wheel feel like besides a spinning tire?
A posi works just like a regular differential except that the clutch attempt to keep the differential from allowing one side to spin faster than the other. It basically tries to connect the two axles and make a non-differential out of it. The clutches can be completely burned up and it will still go forward just fine. I've really never seen the point in a Corvair since they don't tend to have traction problems. I guess they would be good for FCs since they tend to lift a rear wheel off the ground in hard corners.

Subject: <VV> Positraction Question

Hi ,

I have a positraction in my 66 Corsa turbo. I understand the basic theory
but I've never taken one apart to see how it actually works.

Here's my question; can a positraction clutch slip like a regular clutch and
if so would it feel like a regular slipping clutch but perhaps on one side?

I can go up my steep driveway with no sensation of a slipping clutch yet
sometimes when going from 3rd to 4th it feels like I'm getting a clutch
slipping sensation from the right rear wheel.

Thanks,

Bob
