<VV> Oil filter magnets

I understand your point, but is it proven?  Who has opened 
and examined the inside of a filter with an outside magnet?
What was found....was it washed clean by the rapid flow or 
was there substantial metallic deposits?

Placing magnets on oil filters is not very effective in my opinion. That is 
because the oil is rushing thru the filter at a terrific speed and its 
momentum  doesn't allow the magnets to capture the particles. Just think that 
at freeway  speeds, there is some 6 to 9 gallons per minute flowing thru the 
filter. Just  picture in your mind how fast that oil is speeding thru the 
filter then and you  will see that it zips by any possible magnetic attraction 
force.
