How much boost should the manifold vacuum needle show. How far to the right 
of center
should the needle move when over 3000 RPM and my foot in it third gear?
It now just barely moves a couple degrees to the right. If this is not
good, what might the problem be?

Smitty Says;  Bruce that boost indicator can not be relied on to tell you 
anything of value except ,you have boost, or you don't have boost.  Leaks in 
the hose going to the dash and even manufacturing variations will make the 
needle move More or Less.  Blow the big bucks and buy a boost gage if you 
really want to know what the turbo is doing.  And make sure the hose from 
the manifold is secure and not plugged.
