I'd simply LOVE a Corvair powered Fiberglass dune buggy. There IS support
from them within CORSA.
I do understand that you may have had a negative interaction with the local
club. But you can still Join CORSA as an At-Large member--not affiliated
with any Chapter. (AFAIK)
Long, ago, in the dark ages (late1990's) this forum was hosted by a hosting
company, and members donated as they could when the fees needed to be paid.
Later on, Bryan Blackwell had a server for the forum in his home I believe,
and when things broke or he needed money to repair or buy something, he just
put out the word and folks sent in money.
When I first got a Corvair (1987) there was NO WAY to get the information
you can get right here, and with the speed at which it comes. I started out
writing out questions and sending them to Clark's, and Cal would answer when
he had time. If he didn't have time, you didn't get an answer straight
away. and BY MAIL of course.
CORSA decided to pick up the costs of Virutal Vairs in the early 00's.
If you really don't want to join CORSA, I believe the CPF (Corvair
Preservation Foundation) is still active, you can always send THEM a
donation.
The Forum does have a Chairman, Dennis Pleau (Internet committee chair for
CORSA), and has been held by various members over the years, but Dennis has
had the job the longest. There are several other adminstrators that help
him keep things in line. Unlike previous years, this is not a "Wild West"
forum like some of the other marques have. And gone are the days of
wise-ass answers to questions that new people ask. Actually now a pretty
sedate forum, which I've enjoyed for 18 years.
Hope this Helps
Best Regards

Hey All;
Thanks for all of the great information. I'm about 3 hours east of
Tacoma and have had thoughts about heading over the mountains to see the
cars that are there. No intention of attending any of the events other than
the car shows if possible. What I'm really interested in is to see if there
is any support for Corvair based fiberglass buggys.
I won't be joining CORSA as my interactions with the folks in the local
area chapter have been fairly dismal.
