 Back in the day, if I had the resources, I would've done a blow through, and for SURE, I'd have an intercooler!! Obviously! Hence the reason ALL of today's turbo motors are intercooled.

Using this standard, I've made weirder combos. Try, 140 heads with the 
secondaries blocked off, stock compression ratio, 150 HP turbo with a 180 HP 
compressor on it, 110 cam. Ran fantastically until I dropped 2 seats.

    I would have run that combo with lots of water injection.  But for you, maybe you just
 needed a BIGGER intercooler!!!
