My '69 Mercury Cougar convertible also had that type of rear glass. I thought it was a clever design, and it held up well to some bitter winters in early '70s Wisconsin.

Some later Mustangs, often a back-glass donor for Corvairs, are
multi-layered and have a clear plastic hinge-point across the middle. Robbins  Auto
Top offers a replacement piece for the 65-66 Mustang that might work  in a
late Corvair.

Note - I haven't done this! It is just a reference point. Someone else may
have already installed this. - Seth

Speaking  of glass - how do tops work that use glass?  They obviously fold
differently but I've never looked at one.

One of you smart guys  need to come up with some flexible glass so we don't
have this problem.   My top was down for 15 years and the window doesn't
look very  good.
