Mark,
Good question – I should have been clearer in my initial request. Per the current owner’s mechanic – there is coolant into the exhaust system and outside the exhaust manifold. I assume this means coolant will eventually end up in the oil supply – destroying the bearings.

Andy, what kind d of leak is it? Example: my daughter has a 99 cutlass v-6 with 189k on it where the head gasket leaks coolant out. So they keep adding water to it. Its been that way for 2 years. If the leak is from a cylinder out to The water jacket, or its a coolant to oil type of leak, its very short lived . Mark Durham

Guys,
I REALLY need an extra running car for a while.
I have the opportunity to get a good driving car with a blown head gasket; that is NOT economical to repair. Assuming I could get it for its (non-running) salvage value - how long do you think I could drive it locally before it expires from the blown head gasket?
Thanks,
