<VV> Nothing to do?

Rarely do I do things that are ill advised or dumb, but this time I deviated
and learned a lesson.

I often save scrap metal to take to the recycle yard for beer money. Puts
money in my pocket and puts metal back into the system.

Now, I've got this 4T60 automatic transaxle out of a Riviera that has a
cracked case; hey, there's a lot of aluminum in that boat anchor; let's tear
it apart. All automotive junkies like to tear things apart, right?

Dumb idea.

It took me all day to dismantle this tranny for 56# of aluminum and 101# of
steel. At .50 cents for aluminum (per#) and $8  for steel (per 100#); that's
$36 dollars scrap.

My friends at the salvage yard said they'd give me $30 per transaxle.

I'll take them up on it next time.
